Enterprise Architect -- Financial Systems

Quintessence is a premier provider of Financial IT services to major Wall Street firms. Quintessence provides on-site, off-site and off-shore Financial IT Services.

Position at our direct client, a major financial firm in NJ, requires a senior Financial Technology Enterprise Architect. The Financial Technology Enterprise Architect will lead the design and architecture of major applications initiatives, map complex business requirements into technical architecture, design / recommend frameworks and manage the architecture of complex applications / software solutions.

The Financial Technology Enterprise Architect must be very strong in creating Architecture Artifacts (Software Architecture Doc, Architecture Roadmap, etc), OOD, Design Patterns, UML, Application Frameworks, High Throughput Architecture, High Scalability Architectures, Message Based Architecture, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Database Architecture. The Architect should have also been a lead on global applications projects which have on-shore and off-shore teams.

The Enterprise Architect must possess expert level skills in Core Java, J2EE (EJB, Servlets, JMS), C++, Hibernate, Spring, Struts, MQ Series or Tibco EMS. The candidate must have strong experience as an Technical Architect on large Java / J2EE applications projects.

We are NOT looking for a Tech Lead, but we are looking for a true Financial Technology Enterprise Architect. This role involves only Enterprisel Architecture and no coding.

Minimum Experience Required:

  • 6 years as a Enterprise Architect / Integration Architect with strong experience in Service Oriented Architecture, Layered Architecture, Data Architecture
  • 2 years of experience creating Architecture Artifact (Documents), High Level Design Documents & Low Level Design Documents
  • 4 years of Capital Markets / Financial Systems, Java, J2EE design, development
  • Extensive experience in OOD, Design Patterns, UML
  • Extensive hands-on design and development using Java, J2EE (EJB, Servlets, JMS), Hibernate, Spring, Struts
  • Strong experience designing applications based on messaging middleware (MQ or Tibco EMS) or Data Streaming (Kafka)
  • 2 years experience designing / developing Financial Services applications
