An ideal candidate would be passionate, hardworking, resourceful and self-motivated. The Porter team will work closely with the events and F&B management team to ensure that the cleanliness and orderliness is kept to the highest standards.

You will be responsible for the successful day-to-day operations of all set up, breakdown and cleaning of the designated event and F&B spaces. Focusing on the maintenance of the furniture and equipment is imperative.

Please note, this position will be a seasonal based position that will last for approximatley six (6) months.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a safe, secure and healthy facility by following and enforcing sanitation standards.
  • Maintain an organized, clean heart of the house and all storage areas.
  • Responsible for receiving, maintaining and signing off on all rentals received for events.
  • Accountable for programming event and special event room set up, including tables, chairs, silverware and glassware.
  • Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the club inner and outer areas including parking lots, planters, furniture, windows, carpets, floors and garbage room.
  • Adhere to company s procedures and breakage polices.
  • Conduct monthly inventories for china, silver, and glassware.
  • Assisting with dishwashing in the absence of a dishwasher.
  • Responsible for proper maintenance, washing and cleaning of food and beverage equipment.
  • Organization of furniture/equipment storage in all banquet storage areas.
  • Setup rooms according to floor plans.
  • Management of trash and recycling.
  • Polish silverware and glassware and set dining room tables according to banquet event orders (BEOs.)
  • Responsible for maintaining and upkeep of aesthetic appearance of all F&B/ Event locations at SPNY
  • Assisting client with any and all needs prior to the start of their event.
  • Position duties may include any other tasks as deemed necessary by managers in order to fulfill the obligations of the company.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High level of responsibility and professionalism.
  • Strong oral communication skills, Spanish and English preferred.
  • AV set up experience.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Strong interpersonal skills (people skills).
  • Food hygiene and food regulation knowledge is preferred.
  • Must be willing to be practically involved and lead by example.
  • Physical fitness, this position requires bending, climbing, reaching, standing (long period of time in hot and cold conditions) walking, lifting (60 lbs).
